The Maui Surf Hotel was converted to the Westin Maui by famed Hawaii developer Chris Hemmeter.

RENAMED WESTIN MAUI IN 1987 AFTER:
- $165 million redevelopment
- construction of 10 story, 209 room Beach Tower
- renovation of the former 556 room Maui Surf Hotel
- contruction of new meeting rooms and convention facilities, restaurants, commercial space, fitness spa and a 25,000 square foot swimming pool with multiple elevations connected by wateralls and water slides.
