1957
Matson Navigation Company purchased 1500 acres of scrubland at Wailea.

1964
Alexander and Baldwin gained a controlling interest in Matson 19679
Alexander and Baldwin gained full ownership

1971
Alexander and Baldwin partnered with Northwest Mutual Life Insurance Company of Milwaukee to create the Wailea Development Company and begin developing a residential resort community.
