Yesterday the Go Airlines attempt to rebrand itself as Aloha Airlines was temporarily blocked by federal Bankruptcy Judge Lloyd King as being insensitive. The issue will come up for review again in February of 2009. Here is some history...

An update on Go Airlines' attempt to rebrand itself as Aloha Airlines:
In May of 2009, United States Bankruptcy Judge Lloyd King ruled that Go! Airlines cannot rebrand itself as Aloha Airlines. Judge King blamed Go! for the demise of Aloha Airlines in March of 2008 and he ruled it would therefore not be reasonable for Mesa's Go! Airlines to take over the Aloha Airlines Brand. From Judge King: "Mesa succeeded in inflicting great harm, not only upon Aloha corporate entities but also upon thousands of Aloha employees and families. It is difficult to imagine a court overlooking what Mesa has done and putting its stamp of approval on Mesa’s subsidiary, Go Airlines, becoming Aloha." _______________________________ - Kathie |
