Default Waimea Valley Park Closed by Rockslide

From the State of Hawaii, Office of Hawaiian Affairs on November 21, 2008:

    Quote:
The Makahiki Celebrations scheduled at Waimea Valley on Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 have been canceled due to a natural rockslide that occurred early this morning on the main entry road into the Valley. With the exception of security personnel and two gardeners, no one was on site at the time. Waimea Valley will be closed until further notice while damage assessment, clean-up and restoration of power and water service take place.
To find out when the park will re-open and when the 2008 Waimea Valley Makahiki Celebration will be rescheduled, visit the official Waimea Valley Park Web site and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Announcements Web page.
