Reserverations Required

The Iao Valley State Monument was closed on August 1, 2022 to allow crews to complete the final phase of a slope stabilization project and parking lot improvements. It was scheduled to reopen on January 15, 2023, but the closure was extended and the park actually re-opened on May 1, 2023. Note that since May of 2023, advance reservations have been required for all out-of-state visitors. Hawaii residents with a valid driver’s license or State ID can enter all Hawaii State Parks free of charge.
